Welcome to the ESG Roadshow 2022
11th - 20th October
Harrogate | Knutsford | Birmingham | Bristol | London
Times are changing and there’s no doubt that the global events of this year have ensured that environmental and social issues are becoming a greater part of the public’s psyche in general. Studies show women and millennials in particular – both rapidly growing markets for advisers - are increasingly interested in investments in line with their ethical principles.
That said, it is not a simple market for advisers to navigate, with fund houses operating different ESG strategies, such as negative screening (removing certain companies or sectors) and positive impact (investing in companies actively tackling an issue), not to mention the coining of the term “greenwashing”, all on top of clients expressing different ESG preferences.
The regulation around this section of the market is interesting too. With the introduction of The Consumer Duty from July 2023, the FCA expects advisers to gather “sufficient information” to demonstrate that they are making suitable investment decisions for clients, for whom sustainable or responsible investing is important, whilst also matching their investment objectives.
The 2022 Professional Adviser ESG Roadshow will include a keynote presentation fro Square Mile Investment Research & Consulting, widely considered to have the most rigorous rating mechanism for ESG funds, along with detailed presentations from leading fund houses, Albemarle Street Partners, Baillie Gifford, Eden Tree, Pictet and Quilter. Join us for a busy morning of ESG debate at one of our five venues this October.

Professional Advisers is committed to the journey in becoming more sustainable. By using the guidelines set out by Ecovadis, we will be working towards the accreditation. The goal is to reduce paper consumption across events and improve recycling rates, curb food waste and alter menus with an aim to include locally sourced, organic produce. We have also committed to deliver carbon offsetting at events wherever possible and provide delegates with accessible venues. We will be closely evaluating each event and considering how we can improve in the following areas; energy, transport, water usage, recycling, economic and local environment/community.
Incisive Media have partnered with Ecosphere+ to ensure all our remaining greenhouse gas emissions are offset. Working with Ecosphere+, we calculate the emissions from all our events, including those from event operations, venues and delegates. We then purchase the equivalent number of carbon offset credits to counter-act our activities. These credits are supporting the protection of vital rainforest in Peru, by funding conservation work and creating sustainable sources of income for locals to minimise incentives for deforestation. For further information about the project please visit ecosphere.plus/cordillera-azul-2
The health and safety of our attendees and staff is our top priority and so we will continue to monitor developments in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic and will follow Government guidance on public gatherings.
We are currently working with all our venues, as well as catering, AV and production contractors to ensure that we provide a safe environment for all at the event.
This event is working towards the International Standard ISO 20121 and follows guidance set out by the Sustainable Event Alliance (SEA)
