What advisers are thinking as we move into 2025

Join Schroders and Benchmark for a special working lunch to mark 15 years of the Schroder Adviser Survey. Gillian Hepburn, Commercial Director at Benchmark, and Stuart Podmore, Investment Propositions Director at Schroder Investment Solutions, will discuss how the landscape for advisers has changed over the years. They will reflect on the key challenges faced by advisers in the first survey compared to those in the latest 2024 survey conducted in November while also looking ahead to the trends and challenges that may emerge in 2025.

By the end of the session delegates will be able to:

    1. Understand the changing advice market and key challenges
    2. Explain adviser and client views on the investment market in October/November 2024, how these have changed and future predictions
    3. Discuss adviser sentiment on key topics such as Consumer Duty, wealth transfer, outsourcing investment propositions and use of technology such as AI

    Stuart Podmore, Investment Propositions Director, Schroders

    Stuart presents and broadcasts to clients globally on Markets, Macroeconomics, Geopolitics and Behavioural Finance both from the Schroders studio and in person at conferences. Increasingly, he interviews key figures within and beyond the industry to provide additional insight for clients.

    Stuart joined Schroders in 2015 as Investment Propositions Director after over 15 years in investment at Barclays and JPMorgan Asset Management where latterly, he worked as Client Portfolio Manager, Global Fixed Income.

    Stuart served six years as a Royal Artillery officer, deploying on operations to Northern Ireland and the Former Republic of Yugoslavia, and served with the Reserve Forces for several years.

    He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, holds the Investment Management Certificate and the Chartered Institute of Marketing Post Graduate Diploma.



    Gillian Hepburn, Commercial Director, Benchmark Capital

    Gillian has over 30 years’ experience in financial services and is currently Commercial Director at Benchmark Capital. She was previously Head of UK Intermediary Solutions at Schroders. Prior to joining Schroders, she had an extensive career at Standard Life followed by consultancy positions with a range of platform providers, asset managers and financial advisers. Gillian is also on the advisory board for Women in Asset Servicing and was named as ‘Woman of the Year – Investment’ at the Professional Adviser Women in Finance awards 2021.
