Hope William-Smith is editor at Professional Adviser. She first joined Incisive Media as news editor of Professional Pensions in 2019 before becoming deputy editor in 2022. Hope was highly commended for Willis Towers Watson's DB Journalist of the Year in 2021, and shortlisted for Headline Money’s Rising Star of the Year and Financial Health and Life Insurance Journalist of the Year awards in 2019. She graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2015 with a Master of Law, Media and Journalism. Prior to that, she completed a BA in Politics and International Relations at the University of Sydney. Outside of work, she enjoys playing sports, learning languages, and travelling.

Dominique Ellis joined Aviva Investors in April 2023 as a Director in Global Wealth. Originally graduating with an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge, she had a successful 14-year career in equities, predominantly in research and sales and is a full CFA charter holder. Before joining Aviva Investors, Dominique spent 10 years working in education, both in schools and universities and is a fully qualified teacher. Her goal in returning to the city is to use these skills to demystify some of the jargon surrounding financial markets and give clients more confidence and conviction in decision making. She has been heavily involved in building the educational modules surrounding some of Aviva Investors’ Decumulation MPS and as part of this, feels quite passionate about the application of behavioural finance in retirement advice.

David Jane joined Premier Miton in June 2014. He founded Darwin Investment Managers in September 2010 and prior to that he was Head of Equities Investments at M&G. David joined M&G in December 2000 as a Fund Manager in the global specialist equity team before becoming Head of Equities investments. Whilst there he was portfolio manager of the M&G Managed Fund and the M&G Cautious Multi Asset Fund, which he launched in February 2007 and grew to over £300 million during his tenure. Prior to M&G, David was the Head of Global Financials Research at AXA Investment Management and before that he was at Newton Investment Management as Director of Global Financials Research. He also served as Non-Executive Director of M&G High Income Investment Trust plc from October 2002 to July 2010.

Justine has over 20 years’ financial services experience and before joining Tatton as Sales Director in 2018 she headed up Openwork's IFA arm and led distribution and marketing for Retirement Advantage. Justine sits on the board of Tatton Investment Management and leads our business development, investment specialist, marketing and telephone teams - working closely with Tatton's strategic partners and over 900 supporting IFA firms. A regular speaker at industry events and a chartered planner, Justine is passionate about championing the IFA and delivering consistent client outcomes.

Anthony Rayner joined Premier Miton in June 2014. Before joining Premier Miton, Anthony worked for Darwin Investment Managers, analysing portfolio construction and risk for the Darwin Multi Asset Fund alongside David Jane. Prior to this, he worked for M&G, focusing on portfolio construction and risk for UK equity funds and then for the multi asset fund range. Previously, he was a member of the Asset Allocation and Economics team at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers

Fiona is a specialist presenter and commentator in the field of retirement planning. As well as operating as a Pensions Transfer Specialist and Compliance Director for retirement advice specialists Intelligent Pensions, she is also a regular speaker at adviser conferences, as well as a frequent contributor to the trade press and social media. Having (obviously) started young she now has over 30 years’ experience in financial services, including lengthy periods of service with both Royal London and Aegon, and crossed over to the advice sector in 2017. Fiona is qualified as a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and is the current President of the Local Institute of the CII in Edinburgh, as well as a Governor of The Pensions Policy Institute. She lives in North Berwick with her husband, a teenager and a slightly mad cockapoo. No prizes for guessing which one talks to her the most.

Darsh Williams joined Legal & General in July 2023 as Strategic Partnership Director. She has over 15 years’ experience in the Guaranteed Income industry, where she’s held key roles in Sales, Operations and Product Technical. Darsh works with existing and new intermediary strategic partners: helping to develop distribution opportunities with our range of guaranteed retirement solutions, while providing confidence and certainty for clients. Her aim is to help ensure that clients remain at the heart of what we do. Darsh believes in a holistic consultative approach to review how annuities can be used as an essential underpin for income needs in retirement.
