Professional Adviser Working Lunch
with Orbis Investments
24 November | 12:30 - 14:30 | Buxted Park, East Sussex
The lang cat's State of the Adviser Nation survey is now in it's 3rd iteration, and is one of the most in-depth studies into the investment and advice sector. Mike Barrett (Consulting Director) will be giving delegates a sneak preview of the results from this year's survey, as well as talking about the key trends for the years ahead.
In past decades, the classic portfolio of 60% stocks and 40% bonds was a silver bullet. Now, however, its return prospects look grim, its risks heightened. Escaping those risks will require a very different approach in the decades ahead. In this session, Orbis Investments lay out the case for a far more active approach to multi-asset investing—one that takes advantage of the bottom-up opportunities that are available in markets today. With the right tools and a contrarian perspective, active investors can still pursue attractive returns. Even without a silver bullet.
Rob joined Orbis in 2011 and is an investment counsellor and a member of the Orbis multi-asset investment team. Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree and a Master of Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and is a CFA charterholder.
