Welcome to the Professional Adviser
Working Lunches Series 2021

Professional Adviser is partnering with a number of sponsors to host a series of 1 hour online Working Lunch sessions addressing key issues affecting advisers and their clients during this challenging period. These are FREE to advisers and will be held via the Zoom platform so no special software is required.

N.B. This event is complimentary to UK Senior Financial Advisers. CF30 registered. Maximum two attendees per company. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Are spouses key to the profitability and longevity of your business?

The challenges and opportunities of ‘the great wealth transfer’ have been well documented and discussed in recent years but the key focus is often on passing wealth to future generations. However research indicates that significant ‘babyboomer wealth’ is held within joint households where the first transfer of wealth is often husband to wife. 70% of these widows will change adviser! What might be impact of this on your business and is there something you can do now to address that challenge? Gillian Hepburn, Intermediary Solutions Director at Schroders will be joined by Philip Martin, Managing Director at Unique Financial Planning and Sam Secomb, Director at Pentins and Women’s Wealth to explore this challenge and consider how financial advisers can respond.

Has Covid blown a hole in your asset allocation model?

The death of inflation has been widely heralded and its absence has been one of the predominant drivers of returns since 1981. Its return would maim the traditional balanced portfolio that has served investors for a generation. The post COVID world has ushered in a new era where long-established investing principles could be turned upside down, harming those least able to bear the burden. Join us to hear from Alex Lennard, fund manager at Ruffer LLP, on how COVID19 could elicit a crisis in our most popular asset allocation ideas, and where to invest to negotiate this turbulent time.
