Anna Sofat founded is Addidi, the Voice of Women’s Wealth in 2008, an award winning firm which she sold to the Progeny Group in 2019, where she is an associate director. As well as advising private clients, Anna is a regular contributor to national press and TV. Anna has been awarded the Unbaised.co.uk’s Financial Adviser of the year award; recognised as the Top female Adviser in UK by FT’s Financial Adviser in 2015 and was awarded the Women Financial Adviser of the Year 2019 by Professional Adviser Magazine. In 2020, she was voted the PA Personality of the Year. Addidi, the firm she founded in 2008, was featured as one of the Top 100 Advisory firm by the New Model Adviser magazine from 2012 to 2019 and won the Money Marketing Small Adviser of the Year Award in 2018. Anna is a graduate of Hull University and has a Masters from the London School of Economics. She holds both the Chartered Financial Planning and Certified Financial Planner qualifications. Prior to founding Addidi, Anna was the MD at Fiona Price & Partners, the first business set up specifically to provide financial advice for women by women. She was also a non-executive director for the social enterprise, Fair Finance from its inception in 2005 to 2014.She currently sits on the Nucleus Financial Service’s advisory board. Away from work, she is married and a mother of 2 girls. She is passionate about women, gender equality and living a happy, balanced life. In the past she has served as an elected Councillor on Rochester City Council and Halling Parish Council.
Cathi is the Founder & Director of Para-Sols, an outsourced paraplanning firm and sister company, Apricity, a new compliance firm launched at the end of 2017. She has been in financial services since leaving university and holds both the Chartered and Certified Financial Planner status as well as being a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. Cathi splits her time across both companies - supporting her team and clients on a daily basis, managing the strategy and focussing the growth for both Para-Sols and Apricity as well as championing female leadership within, and external to, financial services. Outside of work, she loves nothing more than spending quality time with her young family and is a travel junkie.
Cherry Reynard is a freelance financial journalist. She has worked for a range of national, consumer and trade titles including Forbes, the Financial Times, Telegraph, Independent, Interactive Investor and the Investors Chronicle. She has co-authored a book on investing in emerging markets and is six-time winner of the Investment Management Association’s freelance journalist of the year award and five-time winner of the AIC Freelance journalist of the year award.
Chiara Barreca is an associate director at Four Communications’ Corporate and Finance practice. She has over 11 years’ experience in UK and international PR, working with a wide range of financial and professional services clients, with a focus on wealth and asset management. A natural leader, her strength lies in planning, developing and implementing communication strategies and campaigns,including issues management.

Claire, Head of Pension Strategy at Technical Connection, has worked in the pensions arena for the whole of her career. This has ranged from a pension transfer specialist to helping advisers deal with the complexities of SIPPs and SSAS in a post simplification environment. Her role with Technical Connection continues to build on her technical insight, thought leadership and ability to make complex issues simple to understand.
Estelle Bibby is Head of Media Relations at Schroders, responsible for Schroders’ investment and wealth management media strategies globally. Over the past decade Estelle has spearheaded many of Schroders high profile media relations campaigns through the power of Schroders’ global PR agency network as well as directly through social media, television, radio, online and print media. Prior experience includes senior positions held at both corporate in-house and PR agencies including Direct Line Group, JBA public Relations and insurance specialist Primary Group.
Francesca provides technical support on trusts, tax and estate planning. Before this, she was a financial adviser and specialised in care fees planning – helping clients maintain financial independence pre and post retirement. She’s also worked for providers, dealing with platforms, investments, retirement and equity release.
Gemma has been in the financial services industry for over 30 years with experience at both mortgage lenders and distributors. She was Head of New Business at Mortgage Trust for 12 years before moving to Mortgage Next, becoming Managing Director in 2005. In March 2010, Gemma joined the Tenet group as Managing Director of TenetLIME, sitting on the Tenet Group board. In October 2017 she joined Quilter Financial Planning and is now Managing Director of the Network Advice Business.
Along with her roles within the industry Gemma has also been on the board of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries for over 7 years and sits on the FCA Small Business Practitioners Panel.
Most recently, Gemma’s work and achievements throughout her career have been recognised by Professional Adviser who have awarded her ‘Woman of the Year: Mortgages’ in both the 2019, and 2020 Women in Financial Advice awards.
Gillian has over 30 years experience in financial services and has recently joined Schroders as Intermediary Solutions Director. Previously, Gillian had an extensive career at Standard Life followed by consultancy positions with a range of platform providers, asset managers, life companies and financial advisers. In 2016 she founded DISCUS, a business providing research, insight and educational content for financial advisers about the outsourced investment market and discretionary managers. Following an acquisition of the business by the Embark Group she continued to develop DISCUS, provided expert consultancy services for the launch of the Embark platform and was Head of Strategic Partnerships.
Helen joined Royal London in May 2017 and creates content and comment across a range of personal finance topics. Before this she was a journalist for 18 years and specialised in retirement issues. She edited trade titles Professional Pensions and Retirement Planner. In 2016 she was voted Pensions Journalist of the Year by the Investment Association and Institutional Journalist of the Year in the Kames Capital Journalism Awards.
Jenette is a communications professional providing strategic public relations and content support to a range of financial services companies. She has over 20 years’ experience in the sector, both in-house and within agencies, and joined the lang cat, an independent insight, PR and communications consultancy specialising in financial services, in 2014.
Jessica has been with the Curtis Banks Group for seven years, having joined Suffolk Life in 2011. She's worked in various roles, including the SIPP Support team helping customers with general queries and the Product Technical team working on projects to deliver legislative changes and delivering staff training. As the Group's Pension Technical Manager she now focuses on helping advisers, presenting on technical issues and writing for the press. She has been a regular contributor to Retirement Planner since 2016.
Kerry Nelson is founder and Managing Director of Nexus IFA, a business she set up a decade ago. She has previously worked as a Director of Communications for a large financial advice business and began her career in financial services at a High Street bank. Kerry firmly believes that small financial advice businesses - whether they aspire to become larger or not - have a crucial role to play in delivering financial planning to the UK public. Kerry feels strongly that advisers should lead the financial services sector by example, by setting the highest standards, though that means driving out poor practice as well. Finally, she believes that advisers should play a role in spreading good money habits, not just among clients, but the public at large.
Kevin has been in the financial services industry since 1993. Following three years providing mortgage advice on the high street, he progressed through several roles with independent protection specialist LifeSearch including Head of Protection Strategy and Director of Public Relations. In 2008 Kevin joined PruProtect (now VitalityLife) as Director of Protection Development, a role which included all aspects of protection business including sales, marketing, product development and public relations. A previously qualified IFA and mortgage adviser Kevin is a well-known industry figure who speaks regularly to the media and at conferences on all matters related to protection. Kevin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and has won many industry awards including accolades for protection advice, business strategy, influence and PR. In 2006 Kevin was voted Protection Adviser of the Year and also the UK's Best Financial Services Press Officer.In 2007 Kevin was voted the 2nd most influential person in the UK protection industry of the last ten years. Kevin is Managing Director of PR and consultancy firm Carr Consulting & Communications, CEO of Protection Review and Co-Chairman of the Income Protection Task Force. A keen Arsenal fan he has also been known to play keyboards in various bands over the years.
Kim has worked in UK financial services for over 35 years. During this time, she provided consultancy to over 100 financial services companies. She's a columnist and an industry judge for many awards. In the early 1990's she created consultancy Pretty Technical Partnership and later founded Pretty Financial a London City based IFA. She has been consultancy head of compliance for 3 major companies and currently works with a Chartered and Certified IFA business and a leading pensions actuarial consultancy.
Liz joined PIMFA (then known as the Wealth Management Association) as Chief Executive in 2014.
She has 30 years financial services experience, 19 of which as a Chief Executive. She successfully transformed and advised several businesses through redefining strategy, re-branding, change management and inspirational leadership, creating profitable businesses.
She has substantive experience of people and corporate culture risk, regulatory knowhow across the industry – banking, insurance and wealth management and providing good practice guidelines for the industry to adopt.

She has over 25 years' of media and communications experience specialising in asset management, pensions and wealth management. She started her career working in-house at a specialist pension firm before moving into agency life and has never looked back. She has developed a network of top tier business and financial contacts, running critically acclaimed campaigns and on-going public relations programmes for a wide range of clients. Louise is exceptionally passionate about the financial services sector and believes in nurturing talented individuals. Melissa Collett is Professional Standards Director at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), leading its professional standards, ethics and conduct activity as a united profession across insurance and financial planning. She is also responsible for the professional body’s legal affairs, risk management, disciplinary matters and governance. She is keen to raise awareness of best practice and drive ethical behaviour through engagement with the profession and external stakeholders.
Melissa has an extensive background in consumer and legal issues. She spent over a decade at the Financial Ombudsman Service, was a Director at Fairer Finance and sits as a Tribunal Judge. She is also qualified solicitor, specialising in insurance law at Hogan Lovells. She is a frequent speaker at conference and events, sits on judging panels, and is the author of numerous articles and publications on consumer law subjects.
Patrick Connolly is Head of Communications at Chase de Vere, the Independent Financial Advisers. He has 26 years of experience in the financial advice industry and is qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner through the Personal Finance Society and a Certified Financial Planner and Chartered MSCI through the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He was named as the Financial Adviser of the Year, Investment Adviser of the Year, At Retirement Adviser of the Year and Value of Advice Ambassador at the Unbiased Media Awards 2017.
Peter has nearly 50 years experience working within the Financial Services Industry, including a long history of working with independent financial advisers. His work experience covers working closely with UK & European Parliaments, Ministers & Regulators on a wide variety of regulatory & digital innovation issues. He has wide experience of policy, regulation & market strategy, together with insight on innovation. He currently has a portfolio career fitting with the modern financial services ‘gig’ economy with a number of roles with political groups, industry think-tanks and strategy groups.
He was a Non-Executive Director of Seneca Investment Managers and also acts as an Industry Consultant at FinTechReguLabs working on the convergence of UK Financial Services, emerging tech, policy & regulation. He has also sat on a number of UK Regulatory Steering Groups. He liaises with regulators and ministers on all new developments in financial services, fintech, regulation and policy.
Peter was Global Head of Industry Policy Liaison at TISA and is now UK FinTech Ambassador at TISAtech which is supporting the facilitation of collaborating the fusion of regulation with FinTech & Digital evolution across UK Financial Services & the FinTech ecosystem.

Sally is a specialist financial and professional services communications consultant. With over 20 years of experience, she has worked with clients in asset and wealth management, hedge funds, investment services and regulatory and business consultancy. Sally holds the investment management certificate and in addition to agency experience with Four Communications she has worked in PR, marketing and advertising roles for M&G, Henderson Global Investors and GAM.
Sally joined the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) as Head of Financial Planning at the end of 2020. She has worked as a paraplanner and in business development roles for Robur Wealth Management, prior to which she had spent 12 years at the CISI in roles including Head of Middle East and North Africa and Head of Educational Development. She’s also worked with the UCLH NHS Foundation Trust and with Alliance Trade Finance and Alexander McQueen.
